Program details
- Mentored exploration and deep-dive into a selected peace theme or characteristic.
- A designated member or our Foundation Core Team offers guidance as each participant moves through the process of reflecting on, responding to, and reaching out with their chosen peace characteristic or theme.
- Your Foundation mentor provides guidance in understanding the Peace Certification journey, in selecting your focus theme or peace characteristic, and in suggesting relevant materials (e.g., quotes, poems, or books by Mattie) to help you move through the “seek – make – bring” peace journey.
- Participants engage in a self-directed journey through Mattie’s Three Choices for Peace©
- Seek Peace – reflecting on the chosen theme or characteristic with conversation, journaling, and personal meditation.
- Make Peace – responding to the message with personal or small group activities that move the message from “attitude to action” in meaningful ways.
- Bring Peace – reaching out to at least one other individual, group, organization, or community with a peace plan or project that and sharing your journey – so that the others may also be inspired by the selected peace theme or characteristic.
- The Peace Certification journey timeline can be as brief as a month or two or as up to a year (participants choose their own pace).
- Once the Peace Certification is complete, your Foundation mentor provides your certificate, and is available to join you in a “commencement” conversation. (Note: a Celebrate Level option is available for individuals who would like Mama Peace to join in the “commencement” connection.
- Once all three levels are complete, participants earn a certificate and access to our Peace Certified Network Community forum for one year.
- Celebration level program includes a Celebration Chat with Mama Peace.
- Annual renewal of Peace Certification is offered at a discount price. Participants receive the same mentorship and can choose to continue exploring the same peace theme, or select a new theme to explore.
- For those who want to maintain access to our interactive Peace Certified Community forum – but do not want to immediately renew their certification – we offer forum access for up to 4 years for $100 per year. After 3 three years, recertification is required for ongoing access.

Details
- We celebrate our in-kind and financial sponsors on the website “Our Supporters” page!
- Sponsorships of $25, $50, and $100 provide materials for small group and larger community “Heartsongs to Mosaics” activities hosted by the Foundation.
- Sponsorships of $300, $500, and $1,500 provide our Peace Certification program to a family, small group, or community that is hoping to participate in our mentored peace journey.
- Sponsorships of $5,000 to $10,000 provide infrastructure support for the Foundation – helping with everything from storage of materials to office space to other costs associated with running our volunteer-based non-profit.
Details
- Sponsoring a personalized “Mosaic of Gifts” brick is a great way to share a unique gift, to recognize a milestone or anniversary, to remember a loved one, or to simply offer a message and make your mark in Mattie’s Park.
- We will post your sponsorship and your brick inscription on our website.
- Each brick can have up to 3 lines of inscription.
- Each line can have up to 14 characters (this includes letters, numbers, spaces, and basic symbols – like heart, dove, paw, smiley face…)
- We order bricks annually – once we have at least 25 brick sponsorships.
- You will be notified when bricks are being ordered, and when they are being installed.
- Bricks are installed in the Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park in Rockville, Maryland.
- We post your sponsorship, your inscription, and brick photos on our website so you and others can enjoy your gift and be inspired.
- We offer a message card for you to share if your brick is a gift or you would like to notify someone who is being honored with your sponsorship.
- Ask us about discounts on multiple or bulk brick orders.
Details & Levels
- Each year, Mattie’s July 17 birthday is proclaimed as “Peace Day” by the City of Rockville, Montgomery County, and the State of Maryland.
- Mattie’s Peace Foundation celebrates Peace Day with local and global events and activities.
- The 2026 Peace Day will include TWO gatherings.
- Friday, July 17 (evening) – a ticketed “Tie Dye, Tuxes, & Tiaras” VIP reception – with our “international Toast2Peace” and connections with other VIPs (in person and online). We will also be previewing samples of the Mattie documentary that is in progress.
- Saturday, July 18 (daytime) – we will have our usual “Peace Day Celebrations” in both Rockville, Maryland and concurrently in Prince Edward Island, Canada.
- Both “party with a purpose” Saturday events will offer family-friendly entertainment and peace-themed activities and games.

- In 2025, Mattie’s 35th birthday is July 17th, and Mama Peace’s 66th is on July 25th.
- Our Annual Birthday Campaign provides support for our day-to-day operations.
