A warm July evening provided a lovely opportunity for local folks to get excited about the upcoming 2022 Peace Day celebration in the Mattie Steapnek Park.
The highlight was engaging with VisArts for an inclusive gathering of neighbors — including members of UpCounty Community Resources and Main Street Connect — to share dinner and conversion, to create simple tie dye shirts and bags, and to launch the #PeaceRocks activity station that will be part of this Sunday’s “party with a purpose” celebration in the park for Mattie’s birthday and legacy.
