Our Programs
Peace Certification Program
For-fee (mentored program – virtual with occasional in-person options)
- Created in 2011, our Peace Certification program went through a “train-the-trainer” program evaluation during 2016 – and received stellar reviews from all participants.
- Peace Certification is a Foundation-mentored and individually-focused “journey” through Mattie’s Three Choices for Peace.
- For youth and adults, and available to individuals, families, small groups, and larger communities of any size.
- Each participant, group, or community is matched with a Foundation Core Team member who serves as a designated mentor throughout the journey.
- Participants engage in a 1:1 online conversation with their mentor to learn more about the Certification Program and journey.
- Participants select a specific peace characteristic that is part of the Foundation’s annual theme or that is an area of interest/need for their journey.
- Participants receive select Peace Tips & Tools (Foundation materials that support the chosen peace journey focus).
- Participants move through their“reflect, respond, and reach out” choices and Certification Plan as they explore what it means to “seek, make, and bring peace” – all with communication support from their mentor.
- On completion of the peace journey
- BASIC level – mentors join participants in an online chat celebration.
- CELEBRATE level – Dr. Jeni Stepanek (Mattie’s mom) joins the mentor/partipant celebration with a Mama Peace Chat & conversation (online or in-person – depending on location).
- Once Peace Certified, participants or groups receive their certificate and access to our exclusive Peace Certified Network interactive Community forum for one year.
- Discounted fees for those who renew certification each year.
- Option to maintain access to our Community forum for up to 4 years before re-certification journey is required.
- While participants and groups may choose any theme, our current Foundation theme is always a great place to begin a peace journey: “A Time for Compassion.”
Your certification program fees
help cover the development and distribution
of Foundation certification materials,
Foundation mentorship time,
and provide support for our work to
continue Mattie’s peace mission.
