#MeghanRocks - a legacy project - begins June 25

Mattie’s Peace Foundation – in partnership with Upcounty Community Resources (UCR), VisArts, and #RockvillePeaceRocks – is launching a legacy project to honor the late community leader, Meghan Jones.

A gathering for Meghan’s friends and local community members who worked or played with her is planned for Wednesday, June 25, during the 7 pm UCR/VisArts class (on Gibbs Street).

This event is for those who danced or sang or did art with Meghan, and for colleagues and community leaders who worked with her on advocacy projects and efforts.

Participants for this event do not need to be registered for the class to come and paint a rock in Meghan’s honor.

Following this event, participants will gather at Lebanese Taverna for conversation and “June birthdays” cake.

During the July 17 (5-8 pm) “Toast2Peace on Peace Day” celebration at World of Beer in Rockville – all community members are welcome to join us for another opportunity to paint a rock for the #MeghanRocks legacy project.
