Members of the UCR VisArts class reflected on Mattie’s messages of peace, purpose, and peace – and then created art in his honor!
For many years, both UpCounty Community Resources (UCR) and VisArts collaborate with Mattie’s Peace Foundation to bring peace, purpose, and play to the community.
Dr. Jeni Stepanek (Mama Peace) facilitated a discussion of three Mattie quotes. Then members chose one of the three for their canvas.
The quotes were:
“Peace is possible,
Hope is real,
Life is worthy!”
“The rougher the journey
the more lessons we learn.”
“Remember to play after ever storm!”
The finished art pieces are beautiful celebrations of talent, of legacy, and of community.
