Sumter County celebrated peace and unity with a community mosaic, performances, and the ribbon cutting for Mattie J.T. Stepanek Foundation’s new offices.
The “Celebrating Heartsongs” contest honored peacemakers of all ages, celebrating creativity, kindness, and Mattie’s message to “play after every storm.”
The 2021 Birthday Campaign surpassed its goal, raising $9,296 to support Mattie’s Foundation’s peace mission and programs. Thank you for making peace possible!
Mattie’s Foundation partnered with Peacebuilders Camp to inspire youth in Americus with human rights education, peacemaking activities, and Mattie’s messages of hope and peace.
Anna Jaylynne Ruckman received the 2021 Mattie J.T. Stepanek Peacemaker Award for her dedication to embodying and promoting peace at Furlow Charter School and beyond.
