Our 2025 Program is below the news story.

On July 17 (Mattie’s birthday), the Foundation is partnering with World of Beer and the City of Rockville, MD for a (FUN) fundraising evening of peace, purpose, and play!

The MARYLAND party with a purpose:

Folks of all ages are invited to join Tommy McFly (NBCNews4), Jimmy Alexander (WTOP), elected leaders, Ed Heck (artist), Andrew Greer (musician), and Mattie’s mom (Mama Peace / Jeni) – along with other local and global neighbors as we “raise a glass or grateful hands, and connect with purpose – for peace!”

Entertainment (from 5-8 pm EDT) includes The Blarney Bench (Irish/folk music), Suzanne Brindamour (singer/songwriter – who has set Mattie’s poetry to music!), Stephanie Goldklang (award winning comedian), Todd Siff (singer/songwriter – with a new CD), Larissa Johnson (laughter therapist), and the ever-energetic ZamDance group.

There will also be a few of our traditional “Peace Day Stations” with craft activities – including the opportunity to  contribute to our new 2025 community mosaic. Younger participants will also enjoy the face painting and #PeaceRocks and #MeghanRocks activities. And our Peace Shop will be open throughout the evening where folks can support the Foundation by purchasing t-shirts, Mattie’s Message cards, Toast2Peace stadium cups, books, and more!

At 6:40 pm EDT, leaders from the City of Rockville, Montgomery County, and the State of Maryland will join the stage for brief remarks about the annual Peace Day proclamations in honor of Mattie’s birthday and peace legacy.

And around 7:00 pm, Mama Peace will facilitate our inaugural “livestream international Toast2Peace” via Zoom – connecting with neighbors who will be celebrating and toasting with us in Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and other locations around the world and across the United States for a “global clink” to peace!

The PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND party with a purpose:

At the same time as the Maryland event, The Village Green in Prince Edward Island, Canada is partnering with our Foundation Core Team members there – with an evening of food and fun! (Details coming soon!)

Along with our Prince Edward Island party guests, we will welcome folks joining from Toronto area fire stations; homes in Mexico City and in Cornwall in England; in Italy (Nile Rodgers from a middle-of-the-night space on a tourbus), and in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, Virginia (and other US states), from places and spaces around the world with some of the WAFF Global Teen Leaders... and we hope the list of zoom-clinks grows longer! –> (yes – #MamaWantsToHearTheClink!)

A special shout out to World of Beer in Rockville (196 E. Montgomery Ave) – for donating a portion of event food & drink sales to support our peace mission, and to Tommy McFly – for being such an amazing Foundation Ambassador!

Thank you to our main event sponsor – The Sing Yat Family Foundation!

And gratitude to our Celebration sponsors – The Baughman Family Foundation, and The Copeland Family / Main Street Connect; to our Tent sponsors – King Farm Citizens Assembly and LaFayette Federal Credit Union; to our livestream Toast2Peace sponsor – Michael Puskar et al on behalf of the Maryland Poor People’s Campaign; and, to an anonymous supporter.

Thank you also to our in-kind Partners4Peace – the City of Rockville, #RockvillePeaceRocks, VisArts, Montgomery Printing Solutions, Giuseppi’s Pizza, Lone Oak Brewing, Parcel Plus, Potomac Valley Brick, and also to NBCNews4’s Tommy McFly, Jimmy Alexander, to our Heartsongs stage performers, and to our Peace Guides and Peace Station crew members – who all volunteer their time and talent to support Mattie’s Peace Foundation.
